Two Times Tables FUNK

Despite the cold mornings there’s been some lovely sunshine in the playground this week as Summer seems unable to leave us completely, which has definitely helped me through year 7 parents evening and year 6 students family open evening. My secondary jazz band and junior choir welcomed all the new potential parents to the school with a swing in their step, and their smiling voices really brought the evening to life. I’ve also just written a new school anthem for one of my primaries which the key stage 1 assembly learnt surprisingly quickly. I even noticed a few air pumps and a couple of jazz hands out of the corner of my eye! And the Key Stage 2 choir have already made it their own so I look forward to teaching it to the rest of the school next week!

So, this week we’re unleashing a song to help EYFS and Key Stage 1 children to learn not only their 2 TIMES TABLES, but also how to count in twos, the EVEN & ODD Numbers. It even introduces PRIME NUMBERS and the concept of INFINITY too, so it’s a very versatile maths number!!It’s a great fun funk song that I’ve used in classes from Reception up to year 3 and can help with older students who struggle with the foundations of primary maths.
