Somehow it’s nearly half term and the Autumn sunsets (and sunrises!) have been getting more and more beautiful which reminds me that we have a few important dates in the diary coming up very soon!
First up is HALLOWEEN at the end of October, so we thought we’d share the song we made to help teach children in Europe and the British Isles what its all about. It aims to make it less scary for smaller children and explains that it’s all make believe so there’s nothing to really be afraid of which I’ve found useful with EYFS and KS1 children in particular. Hope you like it!!
Next up is BONFIRE NIGHT on the 5th November - one of my favourite nights of the year since I was a child. The song we have for you is full of useful information and key facts and vocabulary about Guy Fawkes and the infamous Gunpowder Plot. It’s a catchy and easy to sing tune and my children came up with some fun fireworks actions to really bring the chorus to life so be sure to try some yourself too!
And finally on November 11th it is the 100 year anniversary of the end of the Second World War, so please make sure you take a moment to pause and reflect to mark the occasion. And our REMEMBRANCE DAY song is perfect to help you sing together to remember what the day is all about. It’s a haunting tube featuring a good friend of SingSongAlong on French horn. We shot this in Toronto just over a year ago, and it was a very moving experience, so we really hope that you all like it!
Enjoy your last two weeks til the half term holidays and happy singing. We hope that all three of the songs above help you out with your kids learning and that they provide fun, enjoyment and opportunities to discuss the topics themselves. Best of luck and happy singing. See you soon, lots of love Andy and the team!!
